Utility & Topographical Surveyor

Job Summary

Utiliscan is an industry leading Land & Utility Survey provider, with a vacancy for an experienced utility surveyor (or utility mapping technician).

The successful applicant will be working as part of an experienced team, on sites throughout the UK & Ireland; the role will be focused on delivering underground utility surveys and will often integrate with all areas topographical, a strong understanding of which would be preferable.

Applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience in Utility Surveying UK wide within a range of sectors, using electromagnetic (Radiodetection preferred) and radar techniques (Mala, Leica or Opera preferred). A knowledge of robotic total stations (preferably Leica) & GPS systems would be useful.

The candidate will also have a good understanding of post processing using LSS (or similar) and knowledge of AutoCAD is essential.

The position would involve commuting to our South Glos head office, however work will often involve staying away 4 nights per week, travelling throughout the UK.

You must have a full UK driving licence.

Assistant Driller/Second Man

Job Summary

ADP Group have a position for an experienced assistant driller/second man.

The Role

The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience in a similar role within the drilling or ground investigation industry.

At the very least, the successful candidate will demonstrate experience working as part of a team, in a manual capacity, outside and in all weathers.

The position would involve working throughout the UK on various sites, ranging from petroleum retail sites, through to refineries, factories, brownfield sites, construction sites, rail and road infrastructure and even back gardens!

Work includes geo-environmental drilling, geotechnical boreholes, environmental sampling, GSHP and water borehole drilling.

The successful applicant will be working as an assistant to a lead operator or driller on numerous items of plant and equipment.

The Requirements

The willingness to work hard, in all weather conditions, often on testing sites and always whilst working as part of a team.

A good understanding and experience of the above techniques is preferred, however full training will be provided. A full, clean driving licence is essential.

Preferable but not essential is SPA/PIA, NG PERSONS/BESC, CSCS and C/C1 + E or B+E driving licences.

Position would involve commuting to our South Glos head office, however work will often involve staying away 4 nights/week with occasional weekend working.

The Reward

The opportunity to travel the country, working as part of a successful and growing ground investigation company, on some very prestigious sites; all whilst out in our fantastic outdoors!

Package includes a very competitive basic salary (£17,000 – £22,000) and great overtime rates payable after the first 9 hours of each shift; also included is a generous “staying away” allowance to take care of living expenses whilst away from home.

Weekend and night shifts are available by separate negotiation and pay up to 3 times the standard salary.

Please note that the successful candidate will reside close to ADP Group’s South Gloucestershire Head Office, as daily commuting is regularly required.

The expectation is that the successful candidate will live within 1 hour commuting distance, please note that you are unlikely to be considered for the role if you do not meet this criteria.
